Maitreya Dadashreeji:
It is only love that needs to be pursued. ‘Premaiva Sadhyataam’ which means, if you need to search for anything in life, it is only Love and nothing else!
One needs to realize that we don’t really understand who the Divine is. We don’t understand Buddha. Is the Divine always compassionate like Buddha? We feel he isn’t because there is also a punishing Divine. He punishes the wrong doers, wielding his staff of ‘ Dharma,’ upholding justice.
We therefore see the Divine playing different roles and we wonder who the Divine really is!
It’s really very difficult to understand the Divine. When you come to the ashram, you must have seen a form of the Divine called Hayagriva. You may not know the meaning of the form of the Divine. There was a time when a demon (Rakshasa) hid the Vedas ( Vedic scriptures). He wanted to keep them away from the people as the Vedas represented (true) Knowledge. They contained knowledge about the Divine and the knowledge about the Truth. The demon who hid the knowledge of the Vedas is known as Hayagriva.
Vishnu took a physical form known as an ‘avatar’ (a Divine incarnation) to deal with this demon, Hayagriva. He took on a demonic form to deal with the demon. The name of this ‘avatar’ is also Hayagriva., the Divine assumes a form as per the need of the Time. The Divine becomes Hayagriva to deal with Hayagriva! He is still Divine and he destroys the demon Hayagriva. Narasimha (a Form of Divine that was half human and half lion) form ( avatar) of Vishnu became manifest to take care of the wrong doings of Hiranyakashyapu (a cruel king). Narasimha was a very ferocious form of the Divine. Do we think of the Divine as being aggressive and violent? No! we certainly don’t! But the Divine does take such a form too! He/She took on a form that was needed at that time.
In order to pacify and quiet the ferocious form of Vishnu (Narasimha), the Shiva aspect of the Divine assumes an even more ferocious and powerful form known as ‘ Sharabha’ avatar (Divine incarnation).
We see that there are various forms of the Divine. What is the Divine form really then? Is he/she like Gautama Buddha - all compassionate? Is the Divine compassionate and merciful like Jesus Christ, who was every forgiving? Or is he/she like Narasimha or like Hayagriva (here to bring justice)? Or then again, is he/she like Shiva’s form of Sharabha? You will never know or understand what the Divine really is.
So what do we do? Let us try and connect with our inner Divine, our own truth! Let us try and be like the Divine. You will never truly understand the Divine, because the Divine changes according to the need of that time. Your knowledge of the Divine is based entirely on history, entirely on the past. You therefore need to give up logical reasoning, knowledge (from books), and egocentric ideas. You have to give up any discussion about how the Divine needs to be, what the Divine needs to do both internally and externally.
Whatever is going to happen on Earth and in Creation is entirely going to be as per the Will of the Divine. The Divine is going to take everything under his/her control (Niyantran) as per his/her Divine Will.
So far, people acted and the human mind handled things, but now the time has come when the Divine is going to take over. And everything in this entire world will be in under the control of the Divine.
